I buy a ton of stuff from Amazon… I mean, a lot…
One of the best things that has happened the last few years is that distributors and studios started working with Amazon directly to drop exclusives as well as discounted pre-orders. I buy the majority of my physical media on Amazon because it’s available, easy to get, and I’m a Prime Member—
Here are five movies I’ve either purchased/pre-ordered I thought you’d like to know about…
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire
It’s Ghostbusters, so yeah, you know I’m going to buy it.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire
I actually have not seen this movie yet. I just ordered it because I heard it’s amazing! I happen to be a fan of these classic Godzilla and King Kong films.
The Fall Guy
I pre-ordered this. The price usually goes up by a few dollars, so might as well save some $$$ — This title will be released on July 23, 2024. I used to watch The Fall Guy tv series when I was a kid, did you?
Drive 4K Ultra HD SteelBook
Ryan Gosling has been in some great flicks. Drive is one of my absolute favorites. I even own the soundtrack in vinyl. I had to get this in SteelBook format for sure. If you have not seen Drive, you’ve got to watch the movie, it’s fantastic!
And last, but certainly not least…
Taxi Driver 4K Ultra HD SteelBook
One of the best films ever made… this is a must own for sure. I can’t wait to pick through the commentary and other special features.
Here’s some Taxi Driver (1976) Trivia:
Robert De Niro prepared for the role by working as a late night cab driver in New York City early 1975. One of his fares was a struggling actor who recognized him from The Godfather Part II (1974). The young actor said to De Niro discouragingly "Wait a minute, you just won an Oscar. My God... is it THAT hard to get work??"
Before Jodie Foster was eventually cast as Iris, there were more than two hundred fifty applicants for the role, including newcomers Carrie Fisher, Mariel Hemingway, Bo Derek, Kim Cattrall, Rosanna Arquette, Kristy McNichol, and Michelle Pfeiffer.
Alright friends, are any of these movies on your radar? Also, I’m curious if you still buy DVDs? Let me know in the audience poll below.
Let me know if you pre-ordered anything cool, I’d love to know!
Stay rad!!

I just watched Drive for the first time last week. Loved it.
I buy Blu Rays all the time. Besides Amazon, Gruv has great prices and selection too.
Great roundup! I'm so looking forward to Ghostbusters. It's been in the queue for far too long, time to fire it up!
