You know what still blows my mind about the cereals we grew up with? They were so much part of our weekend ritual. That just doesn’t happen today. The box was an experience all on its own. We would read the back of it, sometimes there was a puzzle, or a game, or even a comic strip. Inside was basically a lottery ticket with a prize you’d fight your sibling over. We would pour ourselves a bowl and park ourselves in front of the television to watch our favorite Saturday morning cartoon.
That’s the kind of magic no “high fiber oat blend” can ever recreate!
Nostalgia Nation will be back with our regular email on Thursday at noon!

Poll #1-C, Poll #2-E, Poll #3-D
Still love cartoons and cereal! 📺 🥣
Here’s how my fading memory has it:
(Poll#1, a) (Poll#2, c) (Poll#3, d)
I do miss the days of my brother and I waking up just before the earliest cartoons started, getting our heaping bowls of sugary cereal, and then fast walking (so as not to spill) to the living room before parking ourselves on the floor about two feet from the TV.
I’m guessing we were in our underwear because we were being raised by a single dad (for a lot of it) and that’s how our gang rolled- rocking the Tighty-Whitey’s and eating our Froot Loops or Apple Jacks or Cap’n Crunch or whatever was on hand that week.
