This reminds me of the Disney VHS collecting craze. If I remember correctly, people were saying that certain editions were worth thousands.
There are still a few Disney VHS tapes that are highly sought after... but tbh, they were still printed in high quantity. Games were printed in fewer quantities and there is incredible demand for them.
